Bill Ward Remembers 9/11

 September 11, 2002

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been listening to a lot of music, it helps me to realize that we are survivable despite hardship, terror, and death. In my personal remembering of last year, the horror and the extraordinary ascent to save lives at any cost seems almost overshadowed by the war footing against Iraq our president appears to hold dear to his heart.

I don’t want to blemish my thoughts of the solemness of last year, and its anniversary, by sharing my thoughts on the pending attack on Iraq. I’ll end this mention, in that I fear the constant pull push effect of poor leadership in America will send many Americans into even more heartbreak. I hope I’m totally wrong.

As I said earlier, I’ve found music to be a great comfort to me in these now new hostile times. Music, as always, will prevail, so for all pain and suffering, I respectfully share with humility some of the songs I’ve been listening to. I dedicate this small gesture to peaceful resolves, better said than not said at all.

To musicians everywhere thanks for helping to keep our planet alive when others would seek to destroy it!
